Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Acting Jakarta Governor Teguh Setyabudi confirmed that Christmas celebrations in the city have been peaceful and well-organized, with security and public order firmly in place.
“The situation is calm, and public safety is under control. Hopefully, this continues,” he said after inspecting several churches in Central Jakarta, including Jakarta Cathedral, GKI Samanhudi, and GPIB Immanuel on Tuesday (24/12/2024).
Acting Governor Teguh was joined at Jakarta Cathedral by Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno, Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar, Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs Budi Gunawan, the INdonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and the Indonesian Military (TNI) CommanderGeneral Agus Subiyanto.
To ensure the celebrations remain smooth, the city deployed 3,667 security personnel to secure 674 churches across Jakarta. Additional measures include managing access routes for worshippers and providing enhanced security at key locations.
“We aim to guarantee that Christmas and New Year’s festivities proceed without any disruptions,” Acting Governor Teguh added, as quoted by antaranews.com.
