Burnt land reached 4,267.51 hectares from 1 Jan 2026 to 6 Oct 2026, with Batanghari Regency recording the largest affected area at 1,306.81 hectares. Air quality in several regions reached hazardous levels, including Jambi City and Muaro Jambi Regency.
In law enforcement efforts, police are handling 90 fire-related cases, with 18 suspects named across 19 ongoing investigations. Authorities urged the public to refrain from land clearing through burning and to report any illegal burning activities immediately to officials.
