A joint team from the 2026 Damai Cartenz Operation Task Force, along with the Bintang Mountains Sub-regional Police and the 751/VJS Infantry Battalion Task Force, discovered a marijuana plantation during a tactical patrol in the Bintang Mountains area on Saturday (4/11/2026).
The patrols were conducted over two days, from April 10 to 11, 2026, involving a total of 29 joint personnel. The patrols targeted several areas identified as potentially vulnerable and also served to monitor the security situation on the ground.
During these operations, the team discovered marijuana plantations in two different locations: Yunabol Village, Oksibil District, and Siminbuk Village, Serambakon District. From these two locations, officers seized a total of approximately 226 marijuana plants: 81 in Yunabol Village and 145 in Siminbuk Village.
In addition, two individuals identified as LU (57) and GU alias K (27) were also apprehended at the location. Both have undergone initial examination, including urine tests, with negative results.
The Head of the Public Relations Task Force for the 2026 Damai Cartenz Operation, Senior Superintendent Yusuf Sutejo, explained that the discovery was the result of a coordinated joint patrol.
"This discovery began with a two-day tactical patrol by a joint team of 29 personnel. The patrol uncovered marijuana fields in two locations, totaling approximately 226 marijuana plants, as well as two individuals who are currently being detained for investigation," he said.
He emphasized that the two individuals currently detained are still witnesses and have not been named as suspects.
"Both are still under further investigation and are witnesses. All evidence and witnesses have been handed over to the police for further investigation," he explained.
