Inp.polri.go.id – Bali. Indonesian President Joko Widodo invites members of Archipelagic and Island States (AIS) Forum to continue working together in facing various global challenges. According to him, all archipelagic and Island states should gather as one in facing problems such as sea level rise, marine resource management, and marine pollution. “Take it like this, if we littering on land, it does not necessarily mean the garbage would move to the other parts of the world. However, if we littering on sea, it is very much likely the garbage would drift to another land,” says Jokowi in his opening remarks at AIS Forum Summit, Nusa Dua, Bali, Wednesday (10/11/2023). For that, Jokowi stressed the importance of collaboration and solidarity between states in making strategic, concrete, and tactical measures in resolving world issues. Jokowi also emphasized three things that needs to be pushed, which are solidarity, equality, and inclusivity as the principle that must be held together; priority on concrete collaboration tailored to the needs of recipient countries; and strong and dynamic cooperation framework to face future challenges.
