President Joko Widodo scheduled for Nusantara New Capital (IKN) Airport groundbreaking in North Penajam Paser, East Kalimantan along with other infrastructures such as hospital and schools on Wednesday (11/1/2023). In his second day working visit at East Kalimantan, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo will also inspect toll road construction work which will link Balikpapan City with IKN. “After his working visit, Jokowi and entourage will spent their night in IKN,” states official press statement on Wednesday (11/1/2023). The Minister of Transportaion Budi Karya Sumadi states that his party have inspected the location of IKN Airport construction in Penajam. The Airport is located 23 kilometers from the center point of IKN. He explained that the establishment of IKN Airport is in accordance with IKN main concept of nature based. Meanwhile, the design concept of the airport mixed the local culture with a taste of modernization, which involves several genius architects.
