KAI Operations Office (Daop 1) Jakarta predicts that 34,997 train passengers will arrive in Jakarta and its surrounding areas on Tuesday (8/25/2026), marking the highest number of arrivals during the long holiday period of August 21–25, 2026.
Based on preliminary booking data as of Monday (8/24/2026) at 8:00 a.m., this number is an increase compared to Monday's arrival volume of 30,667 passengers.
KAI Operations Office (Daop 1) Jakarta Public Relations Manager Franoto Wibowo stated that travel patterns are shifting from departures to return journeys. This trend is evident after the peak departures occurred on Saturday (8/22/2026), with a total of 38,842 passengers.
"After peak departures on Saturday, August 22, with 38,842 customers, the movement is now dominated by returning customers arriving in the Jakarta Operational Area 1 area. Today, 30,667 customers are scheduled to arrive, while preliminary data for August 25 shows 34,997," Franoto said in a written statement on Monday (8/24/2026).
On Monday (August 24), Pasar Senen Station had the highest arrival volume, with 11,134 customers. This was followed by Gambir Station with 9,430 customers.
Meanwhile, 3,919 customers arrived at Bekasi Station, 3,891 at Jatinegara Station, 1,110 at Cikarang Station, 653 at Karawang Station, and 530 at Cikampek Station.
Cumulatively, during the period of August 21–25, 2026, KAI Operational Area 1 Jakarta recorded 144,998 customer departures and 150,078 arrivals, based on data as of Monday, August 24, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time (WIB).
This means that nearly 295,000 customer movements were recorded in Operational Area 1 Jakarta during the long holiday period commemorating the Prophet Muhammad's birthday.
On Monday, August 24, 2026, 18,905 customer departures and 30,667 arrivals were recorded. Meanwhile, on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, 18,113 customers were recorded as departing, while 34,997 were predicted to arrive.
