inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The Head of Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) of the National Police (Polri), Inspector General Firman Shantyabudi emphasized that the supervisory responsibility by the corps must be done well. This was conveyed to the participants of 'Police Ethics Guidance'. "Everyone has the same potential (to commit violations) if we do not carry out supervision properly," he explained, Monday (14/3/22). Inspector General. Pol. Firman Shantyabudi explained that currently there are 856 members of Traffic Corps (Korlantas), with 764 personnel and 92 Police Civil Servants (PNS). However, Firman said not all of them were under the supervisory. "There is 764 personnel in Korlantas, and 92 civil servants, and minus 73 personnel because of external duties, either attached or special escorts. This 73 personnel are indeed beyond our supervisory because they are attached to the officials they are escorting, so to be honest, not all of them are under our surveillance when they are not conducting their duty,” explained the Head of Traffic Police. The Two-Star General added that the ranks must aware of this condition to avoid violations and abuse of duties. Firman said his party was also developing a surveillance system. "We are still trying to develop several surveillance systems. In the future, we hope that our vehicles will be monitored properly through the digital system in our main offices," explained the Head of Traffic Police.
