inp.polri.go.id - Karawang. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) says that Karawang Regency is included in the corruption crime alert zone. With this announcement, the Karawang Regency Government is urged to improve its monitoring activities.

“According to our monitoring result, Karawang is included in the corruption crime alert zone,” says the Regional III Coordination and Supervision Director of KPK, Bahtiar Ujang Purnama on Wednesday (10/16/2024).

While attending the 2024 Karawang Inspectorate Award activity, he said that based on the Monitoring Center for Prevention (MCP) Index, an indicator used by the KPK to encourage corruption prevention in Karawang is still below standard.

"In 2023, the Karawang MCP index was 86 points, and this year it only reached 39 points," he explained.

The MCP Index shows the achievement of the performance of the coordination and supervision program for preventing corruption in the regional government environment.

"This MCP Index can be used to map corruption-prone areas in each region. In addition, the MCP Index can also help identify vulnerable areas that need to be monitored more closely," he said.

In addition to the low MCP Index points, the Integrity Assessment Survey (SPI) in Karawang is also still quite low, which is below 78 points.

"With the MCP index points reaching 86 and the SPI 71 points, Karawang is included in the category of a corruption alert zone," he explained.

Due to this condition, the Karawang Regency Government is expected to be able to increase the MCP and SPI indexes, so that they can reach 90 points.
