The Armed Criminal Group (KKB) has killed a construction worker and injured two others at a health center project in the Kepala Air area of Puncak District, Central Papua, on Thursday (19/10/2023), "On Thursday afternoon, the construction workers were attacked at the Kepala Air health center project in Puncak District," Damai Cartenz Task Force Chief Senior Superintendent Dr. Faizal Ramadhani was quoted by antaranews.com as saying. As many as 19 workers were able to escape unharmed as the KKB members attacked them using firearms, machetes and arrows,  he added. The Head of The Task Force Public Relations Unit, Superintendent Bayu Suseno, explained that the task force  in Ilaga was informed about the attack after the surviving workers reported it. The deceased victim and the two injured victims have been evacuated to the Puncak District General Hospital while the surviving19 workers have sought refuge at the Puncak Sub-regional Police Station. "We will take statements from the victims to identify the perpetrators and take legal action against the KKB group in the Kepala Air region," the spokesperson said. (mg/inp/pr/nm)
