Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The National Police Commission (Kompolnas) appreciates the performance of Indonesian National Police (INP) who successfully handles the Christmas and 2024 New Year Eve situation.
“Kompolnas appreciates INP members throughout Indonesia for their professional and honest performance in carrying out Lilin Operation so that the holiday celebration could go safely and smoothly as expected,” says Kompolnas member, Poengky Indarti on Thursday (1/4/2024).
As the functional inspector of INP, Kompolnas has the responsibility to ensure INP works professionally and independently.
“Kompolnas also directly monitored and supervised several regional police offices for the 2023 Lilin Operation,” said Poengky.
The regional police offices visited by Kompolnas are the North Sumatra Regional Police, Papua Regional Police, North Maluku Regional Police, West Kalimantan Regional Police, Lampung Regional Police, and Bali Regional Police.
According to her, the monitoring result shows that police institutions across Indonesia have worked professionally and responsibly in carrying out 2023 Lilin Operation.
“There are no disruptions from the extremists nor terrorism from the terrorist or radical groups,” adds Poengky.
Poengky explains there are several factors that support the success of 2023 Lilin Operation, among them are good coordination and sufficient support of equipment and facilities.
Kompolnas saw that good coordination between INP and related stakeholders was the key of 2023 Lilin Operation success, further supported with the advanced equipment of INP. Moreover, INP has also prepared command centers across regional police offices in Indonesia. The command centers linked them with Sub-regional and Sector police in their respective areas.
“The collaboration of INP with the mass media also successfully amplifies the latest information around traffic situations, which help the general public to update the situation more easily,” adds Poengky.
On the other hand, regarding the crowded traffic situations in Bali, Kompolnas expects a good evaluation based on the issue such as providing more mass transportation.
It is worth noting that the 2023 Lilin Operation was conducted for 14 days from December 22nd, 2023 to January 2nd, 2024 which involves a total force of 129,923 personnel.
