The National Police Commission (Kompolnas) supports the use of face recognition by the North Sumatra Regional Police in securing the F1 Powerboat in Balige, Toba Regency.   “We do appreciate this technology, as it is part of North Sumatra Regional Police effort in better securing the F1 Powerboat,” said Kompolnas member Yusuf Warsyim in Balige on Friday (3/1/2024).   According to him, the face recognition is indeed first implemented in the F1 Powerboat security. Therefore, he hopes there will be no errors or misconduct in detecting every spectator.   “This technology tremendously helps our officers to see suspicious people coming into the arena. Whether they may commit terrorist acts or be included in the wanted list, with the face recognition technology, we could quickly track them down,” said Yusuf.   Regarding the F1 Powerboat security operation in general, he admits that he is pleased with what the North Sumatra Regional Police did.
