Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The General Elections Commission (KPU) joined forces with the Election Cyber Task Force, led by the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN), to secure voter data in the upcoming 2024 elections following a website breach by the hacker "Jimbo." Betty Epsilon Idroos, Head of KPU's data and information technology division, said on Tuesday (28/11/2023) that the KPU seeks assistance from the BSSN to address the breach, antaranews.com reported. The KPU learned about the incident when hacker "Jimbo" claimed to have accessed voter data and shared 500,000 sample records on BreachForums. Immediately responding to the breach, the KPU initiated a search and collaborated with relevant ministries, including BSSN, to verify the authenticity of the compromised data. Betty emphasized the need for a thorough examination of the data, ensuring its accuracy and tracing its origin. Jimbo's upload revealed that out of the 252 million records obtained, 204,807,203 were unique after filtering. This number closely aligns with the count of voters in the KPU's Permanent Voters List, totaling 204,807,222 voters from 514 districts/cities in Indonesia and 128 representative countries.
