The Lampung Regional Police's Directorate of Drugs has arrested a suspect, identified by a 25-year-old man with initials MBS, for his alleged role as a courier to the Fredy Pratama's drug network in Palembang City, South Sumatra. "The suspect's role was a courier transporting methamphetamine on four occasions for the Fredy Pratama network in January 2021. The suspect retrieved the methamphetamine from the Pekanbaru area and delivered it to Surabaya, acting on the directives of Mr. SR, also known as Davidson, who remains at large," said Police Senior Superintendent Umi Fadillah, Head of Public Relations  Unit of the Lampung Regional Police on Monday (2//10/2023). She said that the suspect was responsible for the transportation of a significant quantity, amounting to 62 kilograms of methamphetamine, valued at IDR 850 million. The spokesperson explained that the police investigation has uncovered a potential connection with a suspect, known as "K," who has been charged with drug-related money laundering. During the course of their operation, the police successfully confiscated a blue hardtop vehicle, which had been altered to a gray hue, as a crucial piece of evidence in the case. In addition, the police has also confiscated  two BCA Platinum ATM cards, a blue Realme cellphone, a backpack, a hardtop car registered under the name of Khadapi Bin Alyus Abdi, and a residence located at Citra Grad City Block A 02, Jln. Bypass Alang Alang Lebar in Palembang City. The suspect faces charges under Article 114, paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 132, subsidiary to Article 137, and Article 136 of Law Number 35 of 2009 on Narcotics, which carries a maximum penalty of capital punishment.
