Lampung Police Secured Two Foreigners Related to Illegal Gold Mining

inp.polri.go.id – The Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation of Lampung Police succeeded in secure two foreigners from China who initially suspected as the donor of illegal gold mining in Blambangan Umpu district of Way Kanan Regent. The Director of Special Criminal Investigation Unit, Police Commissioner Arie Rachman Nafarin, explained that the two suspects have the initials of FZ (57), and LT (58). The two initially was suspected as the donor of the illegal gold mining. Hovewer, after a further investigation on the case, it was revealed that the two turns out are the victims. The two were swindled by the owner of the illegal gold mining and got robbed for aroung Rp300 millions. The two foreigners have now been handed over to Lampung Immigration. “The two foreigners from Tiongkok has been handed over to the Immigration, because from our further investigation, it turns out that they are the victims of fraud,” said the Intermediate Officer of the Lampung Regional Police. Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Indonesian Forum for the Environment (Walhi) of Lampung Province, Irfan Tri Musri, said the illegal mining has damaged the environmental ecosystem. "To handle the illegal mining in the region, the Regent and APH should take firm action against the perpetrators of illegal gold mining," explained Irfan Tri Musri.
