Landslide in Venezuela Caused 22 People Died and 52 Missing

inp.polri.go.id -  The torrential rains that lashed Venezuela caused the El Pato river, which located 67 kilometers southwest of the city of Caracas, to overflow. Floods caused landslides and also claimed lives. A total of 22 people died and 52 people are still being sought. The flood also washed away several houses, shops, and a slaughterhouse "We have found 22 people dead, and more than 52 are still missing. We continuosly work to find those who are missing," Vice President Delcy Rodriguez told local media at the scene in the city of Las Tejerias as reported by AFP on Monday (10/10). Meanwhile, Interior and Justice Minister Remigio Ceballos Ichaso added that about a thousand people had joined the rescue effort and currently, still carrying out rescue efforts at the location. “This is the worst flood in 30 years,” said Remigio. Venezuela has experienced historic levels of rain in recent months. In 1999, a massive landslide killed about 10,000 people in the state of Vargas, north of Caracas.
