Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) has announced the conclusion of search and rescue operations at Mount Dukono, North Halmahera, on Sunday (10/5/2026)after the final two victims were located.

"With the discovery of the two last victims, the people previously reported missing have been found," said Abdul Muhari, the Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information, and Communication Center, as cited by antaranews.com.

The two victims were identified as a 30-year-old man, and SMBAH, a 27-year-old man. Both of the victims were foreigners. They were found deceased under significant layers of volcanic material.

The three-day operation involved 98 people. Despite fluctuating eruptive activity and deep volcanic ash, the team was able to identify the victims' locations using GPS coordinates provided during the search.

The eruption resulted in three fatalities of one Indonesian and two foreigners. Meanwhile, 15 other people, including seven Singaporean climbers and eight Indonesians, were rescued safely.

All deceased victims have been transported to Tobelo Regional General Hospital for identification and further processing.
