The Executive Director of Indonesian Police Strategic Studies Institute (Lemkapi) Edi Hasibuan expects the examination on Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Chair, Firli Bahuri, by the Indonesian National Police (INP) investigator would be handled professionally and transparently. “This to maintain the trust between KPK and INP. We welcome the examination of KPK Chair by INP Criminal Investigation Unit,” says Edi in his written statement on Tuesday (10/24/2023). Edi says the case investigation of former Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo extortion allegation by KPK Chair must be handled carefully as it potentially could cause turmoil in society. According to him, the case handling has been going professionally by the police. “We believed that Metro Jaya Regional Police Special Criminal Investigation Directorate, which was also supported by INP Criminal Investigation Unit, has handled this case professionally,” Edi says. Meanwhile, INP Public Information Chief, Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan says Firli examination has been continuously carried out by joint investigators of Metro Jaya and INP Criminal Investigation.
