Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) has received 11,811 protection requests from witnesses and victims of criminal cases as of 13 October 2025, marking a significant rise from 10,217 applications at the end of 2024.
“This increase shows stronger public awareness of witness and victim rights and growing trust in LPSK,” said Deputy Chairperson Wawan Fahrudin told antaranews.com in an interview on Tuesday (14/10/2025).
He noted that most applications involved money laundering crimes, particularly fraudulent investments and online trading scams, with around 6,800 restitution requests filed. Cases of child sexual violence ranked second with 1,119 requests.
While the rise in submissions reflected trust, Wawan warned it might also signal increasing criminal activity. LPSK, he added, continues to raise awareness to encourage witnesses to speak up, ensuring state protection.
Of the total, around 6,200 individuals currently remain under LPSK protection, including victims of serious human rights violations.
