Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. A magnitude 4.3 earthquake struck Berau Regency, East Kalimantan, early Thursday morning (13/8/2026).
According to the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the quake occurred at 5.41 am. The epicenter was located 184 kilometers southeast of Berau at coordinates 1.49 North Latitude and 118.93 East Longitude, with a shallow depth of 7 kilometers.
"Information prioritizes speed, so data processing results are not yet stable and may change as more data becomes complete," BMKG said on its official social media account.
No casualties, structural damage, or tsunami threats were immediately reported following the seismic event. Local authorities continue to monitor the situation across the regency.
