Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. A magnitude 4.9 earthquake was recorded southeast of Central Maluku Regency, Maluku, early Friday morning (31/7/2026).
According to the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the earthquake occurred at approximately 1.11 am. The epicenter was located at coordinates 5.35° South Latitude and 129.15° East Longitude, approximately 228 kilometers southeast of Central Maluku.
The seismic event occurred at a deep depth of 251 kilometers.
No immediate damage or casualties were reported following the deep-focus earthquake.
