Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. A magnitude 5.0 earthquake struck northeast of Southwest Maluku at 9.53 am on Sunday (7/6/2026), according to the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG).

BMKG reported the epicenter at coordinates 7.63° South and 128.48° East, approximately 95 kilometers northeast of Southwest Maluku, with a depth of 164 kilometers.

In its release, BMKG emphasized that the information was issued quickly and may be subject to updates as data processing continues.

No immediate reports of damage or casualties have been released. Authorities continue to monitor the situation and advise residents to remain alert.
