Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. A magnitude 5.1 earthquake struck Keerom District, Papua, on Saturday (23/11/2024), according to the Meteorological, Climatological, and Geophysical Agency (BMKG).
The earthquake hit at 5.25 pm, with its epicenter located 541 km northeast of Keerom, Papua, at a depth of 34 km.
The coordinates of the epicenter were 2.99°S latitude and 145.62°E longitude, in the sea.
BMKG issued a statement, saying, "The earthquake occurred on 23 November 2024 at 17:25:40 WIB. Location: 2.99°S, 145.62°E (541 km northeast of Keerom, Papua), Depth: 34 km. "
There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage. Authorities continued to monitor the situation closely.
