Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. A magnitude 5.2 earthquake struck Keerom regency, Papua, on Saturday, 31 August 2024, at 3.53 pm local time.
According to the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency (BMKG), the earthquake's epicenter was located 81 km northwest of Keerom, at coordinates 3.28°S, 140.03°E, and occurred at a depth of 93 km.
The quake's impact is under assessment, but no immediate reports of damage or casualties have been received.
