Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Jakarta's Transportation Agency has set up extensive facilities to support the papal mass led by Pope Francis at Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) on September 5, 2024.
“We have arranged seven parking areas with a total capacity of 1,510 buses to facilitate the event,” said Syafrin Liputo, the Head of Jakarta's Transportation Agency, as reported by antaranews.com.
The parking areas include RNI/Aldiron for 300 buses, Smesco Indonesia for 50 buses, and PPK Kemayoran with a capacity for 550 buses. Additional parking will be available at Museum Purna Bakti, Catur Pratama Mandiri/PPD, Pool TJ Cawang, and TJ Kampung Rambutan.
The Jakarta’s Transportation Agency will also deploy 387 TransJakarta buses, with 351 in operation and 36 as reserves.
“If needed, we can extend service hours until midnight to accommodate high passenger volumes,” Syafrin added.
Pope Francis will visit Indonesia from 3 to 6 September 2024, with key events including a meeting with President Joko Widodo and interfaith dialogue at Istiqlal Mosque.
