Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. An earthquake measuring magnitude 5.3 shook the Tahuna area in the Sangihe Islands, North Sulawesi, on Thursday (11/6/2026).
According to the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the quake occurred at 8.56 am.
The epicenter was located at 4.89°N and 125.50°E, about 142 kilometers northeast of Tahuna, at a depth of 10 kilometers. BMKG noted the information was preliminary and subject to updates as data processing continues.
No immediate reports of damage or casualties have been released. BMKG reminded the public that the information prioritizes speed and may be refined as more data becomes available.
