inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Agriculture, ensures that efforts to secure shallot production ahead of Christmas and New Year are being carried out. The Ministry of Agriculture has coordinated with district agricultural offices in production centers to maintain price stability.

"Concerning the security of the production of shallots availability ahead of Christmas and New Year, we continue to work together with the agricultural services of the central production district," said the Director of Vegetables and Medicinal Plants, Andi Muhammad Idul Fitri on Thursday (10/24/2024).

Andi said that the goal of this operation is to keep the price of shallots below or equal to the reference price. Based on the planting report, the planting area in September reached 9,518 hectares.

In October, the planting area increased to 10,232 hectares, and in November it reached 11,556 hectares. For December, the planting area is projected to reach 10,639 hectares.

With this data, it is hoped that there will be a harvest during Christmas and New Year so that the availability of shallots can be maintained. Andi is optimistic that the stock of shallots can meet market needs until the end of the year.
