inp.polri.go.id - Jambi. The Industry and Trade Team of Special Criminal Investigation Directorate of Jambi Regional Police reveals the malpractice of subsidized urea fertilizer.

"In the disclosure, we secured a truck carrying 147 sacks of subsidized 50-kilogram urea fertilizer, or a total of 7.35 tons, which were suspected of being sold to unauthorized parties," explained Vice Director of Special Criminal Investigation of Jambi Regional Police, Superintendent Agung Basuki, as quoted by Antara, Tuesday (6/23/2026).

This case was uncovered after police received information from the public regarding the transaction of subsidized fertilizer in Marga Mulya Village, Sungai Bahar District, Muaro Jambi Regency on June 16, 2026.

The team then conducted an investigation and discovered hundreds of sacks of subsidized urea fertilizer that had just been unloaded at the home of a resident identified as SW from Marga Mulya Village, Sungai Bahar District.

The team then tracked the fertilizer transport vehicle and discovered a truck suspected of being used to distribute the fertilizer.

From the investigation, the team identified four suspects: AP, H, AK, and SW.

"The four are suspected of having different roles in the distribution and sale of subsidized fertilizer sourced from a supplier identified as AH in East OKU Regency, South Sumatra," explained Agung.

He further explained that the suspects' modus operandi was to trade subsidized fertilizer outside government regulations and sell it to parties not listed in the Definitive Group Needs Plan (RDKK).

Based on the investigation, the subsidized urea fertilizer was purchased from a supplier for IDR 250,000 per sack and then resold for IDR 295,000 per sack.

He stated that the government has set the Highest Retail Price (HET) for subsidized urea fertilizer at only IDR 90,000 per 50-kilogram sack.

In addition to confiscating 147 sacks, or 7.35 tons of subsidized fertilizer, investigators also confiscated a transport truck, vehicle documents, and financial transaction documents suspected of being related to the crime.

"This disclosure demonstrates our commitment to overseeing the distribution of subsidized fertilizer to ensure it reaches the right targets and reaches the right farmers. We will not tolerate any form of irregularities, hoarding, or trading of subsidized fertilizer outside the government's established regulations," said Agung Basuki.
