Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Mampang Prapatan Police Office Chief Assistant Superintendent David Yunior Kanitero confirmed on Friday (19/4/2024) that seven victims died due to a fire at a shop in Mampang Prapatan, South Jakarta.
"All victims have been found in one room on the second floor," he said, as reported by antaranews.com.
Chief David said that the evacuation of the bodies was on-going after the fire was extinguished and the cooling process completed.
"Efforts are currently being made for the evacuation process of the bodies," he said.
Chief David added that in addition to causing seven deaths, the fire at the Saudara Frame and Galery shop in Mampang Prapatan also resulted in five people suffering burns.
Currently, the five injured victims are being treated at the Pertamina Central Hospital (RSPP) and at Mampang Prapatan Regional Hospital.
Head of the Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service Satriadi Gunawan said the fire could be brought under control by personnel around four hours after the fire incident, which was reported on Thursday at around 7.30 pm.
