The Traffic Directorate of the Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police is scheduled to reinstate ticketing for motorized vehicles that fail the emission test, starting this Wednesday (1/11/23), Police Superintendent Jhoni Eka Putra, the Head of the Jakarta Police Sub-Directorate of Law Enforcement, said.
"The locations may remain the same, or it may be changed if a better option arises in each region," he said, referring to the locations where the officers were scheduled to conduct the emission test crackdown.
The locations of the emission test crackdown in Jakarta on Wednesday were as the following:
1. Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan, across from the former Pulo Gadung Terminal, East Jakarta.
2. Jalan Pemuda, Jatinegara, East Jakarta (in front of Antam).
3. Blok M Terminal Exit, South Jakarta.
4. Lodan Street, in front of East Ancol Toll Gate, North Jakarta.
5. Meruya Outer Ring Road, West Jakarta.
Head of the Jakarta Environmental Agency Asep Kuswanto has said that his agency in collaboration with the Jakarta Police will conduct 51 emission test crackdown at various points across five areas in Jakarta, antaranews.com reported.
Vehicle owners failing the emission test face fines of IDR 250,000 for two-wheeled vehicles and IDR 500,000 for four-wheeled vehicles, in accordance with Article 285, paragraphs (1) and (2), and Article 286 of Law No. 22 of 2009 on Road Traffic and Transportation.
