inp.polri.go.id - Malang. The Coordinating Ministry for Community Empowerment will build a migrant worker center (Migrant Center) in Malang City, East Java. This development aims to provide integrated protection for Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI).
Coordinating Minister for PMI, Muhaimin Iskandar, explained that the construction of the migrant center in the City of Flowers will be a collaboration between the educational and business sectors.
He emphasized the importance of establishing a migrant center in Malang due to the high number of Indonesian workers working abroad.
"We are utilizing various resources in Jakarta to create a migrant center, from research to empowerment. We are involving universities and companies, also involving experts and investors," he said, as reported by RRI on Saturday (9/8/2025).
In his remarks at the Global Talent Day event in Malang, the Coordinating Minister explained that the construction of this migrant center is also an effort to integrate the educational sector in Indonesia to help the surrounding community.
"It's time for us to work in a more measured, systematic, and less sporadic manner. We want Malang to become a global hub for talent. Especially one that can make East Java proud and the nation proud," he explained.
Global Talent Day is known to be an effort by the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture to encourage more Indonesian workers to compete globally. Through this event, the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture provides skills development workshops and necessary education for the Indonesian workforce.
