inp.polri.go.id - Gorontalo. The Gorontalo Regional Police Special Criminal Investigation Directorate has urged mining entrepreneurs in the region to immediately apply for IPR (Mining Permits).
The Director of Special Criminal Investigation Directorate at the Gorontalo Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Maruly Pardede, stated that IPR processing is a solution for entrepreneurs and miners so they can operate legally.
"To promote mining governance in Gorontalo, the police and the government are advising them to process their IPR so that their business activities are not deemed illegal," Maruly said on Tuesday (5/26/2026).
This aligns with the commitment of Gorontalo Regional Police Chief Inspector General Widodo, who is striving to promote mining governance in the region so that it has a legally accountable basis.
Previously, the Gorontalo Regional Police had partially eradicated illegal mining in Pohuwato Regency, a phased operation.
Following this, a large-scale eradication campaign will begin in other areas of Gorontalo Province.
This is intended to intervene with miners, so that those who have been mining without permits and irresponsibly immediately apply for IPRs.
