inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman ensures that a collaboration with universities can help improve the millennial farmer program. The collaboration said Andi would in turn help realize the food self-sufficiency target of President Prabowo.
The collaboration of upgrading the skill of the program’s applicant, says Andi, is expected to enable them in managing a more modern farm system.
“We are in collaboration with the universities,” said Minister Andi on Tuesday (11/12/2024).
Furthermore, through the program of millennial farmer, Minister Andi wants to pull the interest of youths in farming by giving them a stable income of IDR 10 million per month.
However, Andi emphasized that this income is a projection of the harvest obtained by millennial farmers, and emphasizes that it is not a salary provided by the government.
“The income is much higher than becoming an employee,” said Andi.
In the millennial farmer program that his party is carrying out, the Minister of Agriculture said that he will create a cluster equivalent to developed countries that in their implementation use high technology from upstream to downstream processes.
Furthermore, the community interested in registering to become millennial farmers has reached 20 thousand people, and is targeting a total of registrants to reach 50 thousand participants.
