Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi has urged all sectors of society to contribute to a peaceful 2024 election by creating a healthy digital environment, saying that the misuse of information disrupts the democratic process and divides the unity of the nation. "We certainly do not want that to happen. We want the practice of democracy in our beloved country to be conducted with joy, peace and civility," Minister Budi Arie said in a written statement released on Friday (3/11/2023.). The Ministry of Communication and Information is determined to mobilize all efforts to ensure a peaceful election in 2024. In cooperation with law enforcement agencies, the ministry has planned to engage various digital platforms for a peaceful 2024 election. "It is the time for cyberspace to be filled with polite political conversations, driven by humanity and expressed with courtesy," said the minister. Citing data from the General Elections Commission (KPU), the number of voters in 2023 has increased by 12%, amounting to about 204 million voters compared to the 2019 election.
