Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. Indonesian Health Ministry will add more vaccine doses for monkeypox as the cases increased. Indonesia also hopes for collective collaboration from ASEAN state members.
“Currently, medical facility in Jakarta has used 447 monkeypox vaccine doses, and we have a reserve of 495 doses,” says Communication and Community Service Bureau Head of Health Ministry, Siti Nadia Tarmizi quoted from RRI on Friday (11/3/2023).
Nadio also implore the community who has been in close contact with monkeypox patients to immediately go to the hospital for medical check-up. This is to severe the transmission chain in Indonesia, particularly Jakarta.
“Currently, only Jakartans who have been vaccinated as the highest monkeypox case is in this city,” said Nadia.
Government will inoculate two doses of monkeypox vaccines to prevent transmission. The second dose will be given four weeks after the first injection.
The latest data from Jakarta Health Office listed 25 monkeypox cases in the capital city. Other than Jakarta, monkeypox has also been spreading to capital supporting regions such as Bandung, Tangerang, South Tangerang, and Tangerang City.
