Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The Communication and Informatics Minister Budi Arie Setiadi says the regulation for publisher rights will be soon implemented. Publisher rights is a regulation that will regulate digital platforms to provide economic value to news content from domestic and national media. “If God wills it, soon. We will welcome its implementation after our President finally pass it,” quote Budi from RRI on Monday (2/19/2024). During Mass Media National Convention, the minister states that the regulation is part of government efforts in ensuring that the industrial players are not crushed by digital disruption. Moreover, the minister also pushed the publisher rights regulation followed by innovations from national press industry. He hopes that it would assure the future of press industry to be much better, optimistic, and adaptive. “I am sure that the spirit that we present now can ensure the future of press industry that is full of optimism.
