Inp.polri.go.id - Yogyakarta. Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Muhaimin Iskandar pledged that the government is taking serious steps to evaluate and improve the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program following recent food safety concerns.

“I and all government officials are deeply concerned and express sympathy to the affected students and families. Public safety and health are our top priority. The government will not turn a blind eye to this incident,” he said on Saturday (27/9/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.

The minister stressed that a comprehensive review is underway, covering food sourcing, preparation, and distribution by local nutrition service units (SPPG). Compliance with hygiene certificates, halal certification, and safe water usage will be strictly enforced.

Despite the review, Minister Muhaimin confirmed that the MBG program will continue, calling it a long-term investment in children’s health and the nation’s future. 

“This is a major program. We must be brave enough to fix and improve every step,” he asserted.
