inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana emphasized her commitment to realize safe tourism following criminal actions towards foreign tourists during the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year holiday season.

“We regret and are concerned with the negative actions that impacted our tourism,” says Widiyanti on Monday (1/6/2025).

She states that her party pushed the authorities to disclose the the criminal case against the foreign tourists thoroughly, including the sexual harassment against foreigners in West Java and rape in Bali.

“We are putting our biggest attention towards this case and encourage all parties to act sternly in disclosing these cases,” says Widiyanti.

Widiyanti emphasized that the government will try to ensure that the tourism sector in Indonesia is safe from criminal actions. The Tourism Ministry will also boost the participation of stakeholders and community in providing safe and comfortable tourism space.
