Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Transportation's Directorate General of Railways has scheduled a trial for the Autonomous Rail Transit (ART) system at Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN) on10  August 2024.

“If everything goes as planned, we aim to start dynamic trials of the ART on a short route (small loop) on August 10, 2024,” said Risal Wasal, the Director General of Railways, on Tuesday (6/8/2024).

The Directorate General of Railways has been conducting internal tests of the ART’s infrastructure and personnel at IKN in North Penajam Paser, East Kalimantan. These internal tests are expected to be completed by 9 August 2024, according to antaranews.com.

The short route, or small loop, will circle from the Kemenko 3 Building to the Kemenko 2 Building and back to the Kemenko 3 Building within the Central Government Core Area (KIPP).

The trial is part of preparations for the ART’s operation, which is planned to be showcased during the 79th Independence Day ceremony on 17 August 2024.

The trial phase will last about two months, including a period for evaluation with the IKN Authority (OIKN) before the public showcase from 10 October  to 31 December  2024. The ART will stop at eight stations along the main route in KIPP and integrate with other transport modes, including bus rapid transit (BRT).
