The National Legal Reform Acceleration Team formed by Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD proposed to President Joko Widodo to temporarily suspend the placement of the new Indonesian Military and the Indonesian National Police members in national vital objects . In its  recommendation to the President, the  Team proposes that the moratorium take place until a conclusion of an independent study on the rules, policies, procedures and implementation of the placement of military and police personnel to secure national vital objects . "The placement of the Indonesian Military/INP to secure vital objects was discussed in the Environmental Working Group because they expected a moratorium considering the excesses that have arisen so far. The existence of these institutions is considered to increase escalation. The Indonesian Military/INP security in national vital objects can also be for private companies. Does it need to be seen if it is correct? I think that is what is encouraged," said Team Member Rifqi Sjarief Assegaf as reeported by antaranews.com on Friday (13/9/2023). The  Team proposes that the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs issue a decree to form an independent team tasked with studying the issue as well as formulating recommendations and a road map for policy improvements related to the placement of the Indonesian Military/INP soldiers in national vital objects and related corporate activities. The study and related formulations are targeted to be completed by December 2023  to be implemented by the Indonesian Military/INP in stages in March 2024, June 2024, and September 2024. The  Team also proposes that the Indonesian Military/INP issue a Decree or Instruction of the National Police Chief and Instruction of the TNI Commander that temporarily suspends the placement of the Indonesian Military/INP personnel  in national vital objects  until December 2023.
