Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The General Elections Commission (KPU) confirmed on Monday  (3/3/2025) that most re-elections for the 2024 Regional Head Elections in 24 regions will take place after Eid 2025, following a ruling by the Constitutional Court (MK).

KPU Chairman Mochammad Afifuddin said that some re-elections must be conducted within 30 days of the Constitutional Court ruling, with certain areas set to vote on 22 March 2025.

"We are following the Constitutional Court’s decision. Delaying all re-elections until after Eid would violate the ruling," he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.

The Constitutional Court mandated re-elections after resolving 310 regional election disputes, granting 26 petitions and ordering 24 re-elections. The rulings were announced in a plenary session on 24 February 2025.

KPU guaranteed that all court-mandated re-elections will proceed according to the established legal framework.
