Inp.polri.go.id - Mataram. The Mount Rinjani National Park Office (TNGR) has announced that climbing routes for Mount Rinjani in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, will reopen to the public on 1 April 2026.

Mount Rinjani has been at a temporary seasonal closure aimed at ecosystem recovery and forest restoration during the peak rainy season.

"The climbing routes of Mount Rinjani will be accessible again starting 1 April 2026," confirmed Budhy Kurniawan, the Head of the TNGR Office, on Tuesday (3/3/2026), as quoted by antaranews.com.

The reopening will be preceded by the "Rinjani Begawe 2026" event on 28 March202628 at Teras Udayana, Mataram, which serves as a strategic launch for collaborative conservation programs and sustainable ecotourism.

During the closure, TNGR officials conducted comprehensive surveys across major routes, including Sembalun, Senaru, and Torean, to install safety railings, build new shelters, and map water sources. These data-driven infrastructure upgrades are designed to ensure a safer and more environmentally responsible experience for all domestic and international trekkers.
