Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Traffic Corps officially terminated the national "one-way" traffic policy on the Trans Java Toll Road on Friday (20/3/2026) at 1.22 pm.
The scheme, which previously restricted traffic to a single direction from kilometer 70 to kilometer, has been deactivated following a significant decrease in vehicle volume.
"With the permission of INP Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, the national one-way mudik flow was officially closed at 1.22 am. Traffic conditions are now back to normal, both for those heading toward Jakarta and toward Semarang," said Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, the Chief of the Traffic Corps, as cited by antaranews.com
He said that the decision was based on real-time traffic evaluations showing that the massive "peak" surge recorded earlier in the week has subsided.
While the one-way system was essential to prevent gridlock during the height of the Eid homecoming exodus on 18 March 2026, the current "sloping" traffic data allows for the restoration of regular two-way operations.
