inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police have uncovered five alleged criminal cases related to natural resources, misuse of subsidized fuel and LPG, and the trade in protected wildlife. In these disclosures, the police have named 11 individuals as suspects.

Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police Chief, Commissioner General Dadang Hartanto, stated that the five cases include the alleged smuggling of black stones containing copper, the illegal export of mercury, the misuse of subsidized biodiesel, the adulteration of subsidized LPG, and the trade in pangolin scales.

According to Dadang, these actions are part of the police's efforts to protect Indonesia's natural resources, ensure energy subsidies are used appropriately, and prevent the trade in protected wildlife.

"This law enforcement is our effort to protect natural resources, ensure subsidies are properly targeted, and prevent the trade in protected wildlife," Dadang told reporters on Friday (10/23/2026).

One of the cases uncovered involves the alleged smuggling of 54 tons of black stones containing copper. In this case, the police have named five individuals as suspects.

The disclosure began when officers inspected several containers in the Pademangan area, North Jakarta, on September 18 and 19, 2026. The containers were known to be carrying black stones originating from Gorontalo.

However, police found discrepancies between the contents of the cargo and the shipping documents. The documents listed the goods as candlenuts, while the inspection revealed the cargo was black stones containing copper.

Dadang explained that the investigation pointed to the alleged transportation and sale of minerals that did not originate from the required permit holders.

In this case, police secured evidence in the form of 54 tons of black stones, containers, communication devices, and several shipping documents.

The five suspects allegedly played different roles in the activity, from managing transportation and shipping to controlling the shipping process and controlling the goods.

The police stated that the disclosure of these five cases is a law enforcement measure to prosecute alleged crimes that have the potential to harm the state, misuse subsidies, and threaten the sustainability of protected wildlife.
