Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Navy Chief of Staff, Admiral Muhammad Ali ,and the Indonesian National Police (INP) Head of Security Maintenance Agency Commissioner General Fadil Imran inaugurated public internet access for residents of Tanakeke Island, one of the outermost islands in Takalar Regency, South Sulawesi.
The digital service launch on Sunday (20/4/2025) marked a historic milestone for the island, which had long lacked reliable internet infrastructure.
“This advancement must reach every village across Indonesia, so every citizen can experience the benefits of digital technology,” Admiral Ali said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
The initiative included the launch of the village’s “Internet Corner” and digital civil registry services such as electronic ID registration, family cards, birth and death certificates, and even tax payment via the QRIS system.
