Inp.polri.go.id - Serang. The Serang City SUb-regional Police have confirmed that a 23-year-old man murdered and dismembered his 19-year-old partner following a confrontation over an unplanned pregnancy.
Senior Inspector Salahuddin, the Head of Criminal Investigation at the Serang City Police, said on Sunday (20/4/20250 that the suspect, identified as ML, admitted to committing the crime after being repeatedly pressured by the victim to take responsibility and marry her.
The incident took place on 13 April 2025, when suspect ML picked up the victim, identified as SA, from her grandfather’s house in Ciomas, ostensibly to go out for a meal. During the trip, she allegedly insisted on marriage, prompting him to drive her to an isolated rubber plantation in Gunungsari, Pabuaran.
There, he choked her unconscious using her headscarf and pushed her off a ledge.
“He then returned home to retrieve a machete and came back to the scene to carry out the mutilation,” Chief Salahuddin said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
The suspect is now in police custody and faces charges under Article 338 of the Criminal Code for premeditated murder.
