Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Central Jakarta Metropolitan Sub-regional Police deployed 1,994 officers to secure a protest supporting Palestine outside the United States Embassy on Sunday (26/1/2025).

The officers were stationed strategically around the embassy area. Traffic diversions were implemented situationally based on on-site conditions.

Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Senior Superintendent Susatyo Condro emphasized the importance of a persuasive and humanistic approach from officers, urging them to avoid provocation and prioritize negotiation while ensuring public safety. He confirmed that none of the deployed personnel carried firearms.

“Maintain peace, avoid violence, and respect public property and road users near the embassy,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.

Participants, wearing Palestine-themed attire and carrying flags with Islamic inscriptions, gathered peacefully to voice their solidarity.
