inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Vice President Gibran Rakabuming stated that Sudaryono's inauguration as Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) will support improvements in the governance of the Free Nutritional Meals (MBG), including a focus on frontier, disadvantaged, and outermost (3T) regions.

"Congratulations to Mr. Sudaryono on his inauguration as Head of BGN. I believe that with his experience as Vice Minister of Agriculture overseeing food security, and the strong commitment of BGN staff, the MBG program can run with better, more transparent, and more targeted governance," said Vice President Gibran Rakabuming in a statement received in Jakarta on Wednesday (7/22/2026).

Gibran emphasized that every rupiah spent on the MBG program must be accounted for and provide benefits to improving the nutrition of Indonesian children.

Furthermore, Gibran also expressed his full support for BGN staff in focusing on providing targeted MBG.

"I fully support the implementation of MBG, which focuses on the 3T areas by involving MSMEs, school canteens, and parents. We want the MBG, as one of the President's priority programs, to be implemented with more streamlined, measurable management and free from corrupt practices," said Gibran.

Regarding the former Head of BGN, Nanik S. Deyang, who resigned due to health reasons, the Vice President also prayed for her recovery.

"I also pray for Ms. Nanik's speedy recovery and that her treatment goes smoothly," said Vice President Gibran.

Previously, Nanik S. Deyang was confirmed to have submitted her resignation as Head of BGN due to health reasons on Wednesday (7/22/2026).

In a statement on social media, Nanik also explained her resignation as BGN leader to seek treatment abroad for a heart condition.

"I conveyed to the President, with my deepest apologies, that it seems I must resign as Head of BGN for the sake of my health. Because the President is concerned and feels sorry for me, the President agreed, but I was asked to continue to oversee BGN," Nanik said in her post.

On the same day, the Palace announced Sudaryono, previously Vice Minister of Agriculture, as the new Head of the National Land Agency (BGN). Sudaryono's inauguration took place at the State Palace this afternoon.
