Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The  government has confirmed there will be no additional public holidays for Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025, despite calls to designate 27 December 2024 as an extra day off.

Acting Deputy for Education Quality Improvement and Religious Moderation at the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture, Warsito, stated that the 2024 holiday calendar already includes 10 public holidays. 

"There is no room for more additional leave days," he said on Tuesday (17/12/2024), as reported by antaranews.com.

The government has allocated 26 December 2024 as a public holiday to allow more time for Christmas celebrations and to ease travel during the festive season.

Ahead of the holidays, the government is prioritizing security for places of worship and ensuring smooth transportation flows. 

Indonesian National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo projected peak travel periods on 21 December 2024 and 28 December 2024, advising all police and regional authorities to bolster safety measures along major routes and rest areas.
