Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The General Elections Commission (KPU) Chairman Hasyim Asy'ari has confirmed that there are no foreigners on the permanent voter list for the 2024 general election during a press briefing on Monday (27/11/2023).
Responding to questions about election management at the country's borders, he asserrted stressed that they had ensured from the beginning that there was no potential for foreign citizens to be included in the voter list.
"As for the possibility of foreigners being included in the list, we have ensured this from the beginning. We ask everyone, especially political parties and voters, to check cekdptonline.kpu.go.id," Chairman Hasyim said.
He explained that anyone could access the voter list website by entering their National Identification Number (NIK) to check their name on the voters' list and the location of their polling station, including voters living outside the country.
"Even if they have an Indonesian passport, during the voting process we ask voters to show whether or not they have a permanent residence card as a foreign citizen," Chairman Hasyim added.
KPU has finalized the names of 204,807,222 voters, both inside and outside the country, who will exercise their voting rights on 14 February.
