Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The  Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that no Indonesian citizens have been harmed in the ongoing armed conflict between Cambodian and Thai military forces near the disputed Preah Vihear temple.

“Based on monitoring and communication with various parties, there is no information indicating that any Indonesian citizen has been affected by the conflict,” said Judha Nugraha, the Director for Citizens’ Protection at the Ministry, in a written statement received Sunday (27/7/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.

The Ministry, in coordination with the Indonesian embassies in Phnom Penh and Bangkok, has issued safety advisories urging Indonesians to avoid conflict zones, stay alert, and follow local security updates. Indonesians are also advised to contact the nearest embassy in emergencies: +855-12-813-282 (Phnom Penh) or +66-92-903-1103 (Bangkok).

Tensions escalated last Thursday near the 11th-century Preah Vihear temple, following weeks of landmine incidents and diplomatic expulsions. Both sides reportedly exchanged artillery and rocket fire.

Indonesia expected that both countries resolve the dispute peacefully under ASEAN principles and the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation.
